Site update is coming!
It is time to reveal what we have been
up to in the garage here at Bad Brothers Racing! The site
is currently receiving an update and there will be lots
of interest generated by the new information. The bike has
a name now, the engine is running in the frame, paint has
started on the body panels, and the list keeps going! More
testing is coming this weekend, and all of the video and
pictures will be going on the site. This will be the update
to blow your mind!

Updating today
Thanks to my wonderful Internet provider,
I have not had the ability to update the site in the last
week, but I am on it today. I have lots of pictures of the
bike with the afterburners installed, and it is one mean
looking beast! Please be kind and remember to support the
site with donations and by visiting our advertisers whose
products appeal to you. It helps us to get things done quicker
around here with the right funding!

We have been super busy here
There is an update coming this week,
and it will show the drastically different look of the bike.
The beast is now over 7 feet long and looks ready for battle.
A few little brackets and she will be good to go, and ready
to get some paint. Make sure you check out our new sponsors
with the update as well.

Need a ride?
Well, it is coming up on that time when
we will need to take the bike out for rounds on exhibitions.
If you represent an auto manufacturer or dealership and
would like to sponsor the site with a tow vehicle for our
projects, please contact us directly. Same goes for trailer
companies too!
I
should be going in for a fitting for my new racing leathers
this weekend if all goes well. It's time to upgrade and
make a new statement for the company with them as well.
Once I have the leathers I will post pics of them here.

Back in Operation
You may have recently noticed that there
has been very little activity here since the beginning of
July. The reason is that our shop experienced a small catastrophy
with a flood problem because of faulty plumbing. The problem
has been fixed, but it has stolen a month of our precious
time from us. We have moved to a new shop and offices, and
have things going again, so there should be some updates
coming very soon. We sincerely thank you for your patience
while we get things back in order and get the shop up and
running again. Our projects will live!!
On
other subjects, the website has broken 1,000,000 hits! (1,013,311
as of this writing to be exact) Thanks to all of our fans
for making the site popular!
As promised, there will be plenty more exitement to come
with new projects and lots of updates. Stay tuned!

Interesting stuff!
Well, we have officially reached 750,000
site views since we moved to the new server on March 10th
of this year! Thanks for making our site so popular! We
see many hits from large companies too. If anyone from those
companies would like to contact us we are more than willing
to answer questions for you!
Thanks
again to all our site viewers, and for all of your support!
We are doing our best to keep the deadline for the bike
of Labor day, and your help is appreciated. If you haven't
made a donation to the site yet, please consider doing so.
Any amount is appreiciated and will help us to get this
tribute to the military finished on time! All donations
are handled securely through Paypal.

Happy 4th of July!!!!
Happy 4th from all of us here at Bad
Brothers Racing. We have a couple more updates up for today,
and we really hope that you enjoy them. Please be safe on
this holiday, and don't drink and drive!
To
our troops overseas, we will be thinking of you tonight
and your continuing fight for our freedoms. Thank you for
all that you do! We hope that the fireworks you see will
be your bombs finding their targets against the enemy. Stay
safe, and come home soon. Remember, this jet bike is for
you!

More fabrication time
The jet pipe to the afterburners is
being fabricated this week. The parts for the system finally
got here, and hopefully it means that the engine can be
started for the first time in the frame soon. The pipes
look really big on there since the bike is so small!
The
cryogenic (yes cryogenic) air intake parts are here too,
and will be TIG welded up soon. The system will chill the
intake air and give the bike more thrust as an end result.
The cryo system will be very "cool" stuff. Thanks
to Design Engineering for the goodies to make it happen!

Time to Clean House
I'm sad to say that my wife has decided
not to ride the original YSR bike (the green one), as she
is afraid of even trying to ride a bike with a clutch. Because
of this, I am selling the bike. The auction can be found
on Ebay
by clicking here. Someone please give this bike the
home it deserves so it can be ridden and loved! Proceeds
from the sale of the bike will help to get the jet bike
completed.
Some
of our new parts have already arrived! We just received
the new front fairing, the exhaust bends, and the plug boots
today. The rest of the parts should follow shortly. Whew,
all these little parts add up quickly and take a chunk out
of the wallet to be sure!
I'm glad to see them here finally though!

The Joy of an Early Christmas
We are patiently awaiting the arrival
of a few parts, and counting the minutes till they get here.
Due in this week are, new sparkplugs and plug boots, new
ignition system, exhaust bends and straight pipe, new "undamaged"
front fairing, new sprockets and more. This should be a
good week for getting things done.
We
still need a painter in the Dallas, Ft. Worth area who can
help us get the bike painted up in proper style. Contact
us if you can help!
Thanks
to our newest sponsors, Rehvac manufacturing, Five
Star Manufacturing, and Sprocket
Specialists! We are glad to have you on board for the
build!

Making progress
Crunch time is here, and lots of progress
is being made. Parts are on the way from numerous sources
to get the bike completed on time to make a debut around
labor day. Hopefully we will be able to keep the date and
get things going by then with all systems go. Until then,
enjoy an other update in Section
24.
We
do need the help of a painter to donate some time to the
paint scheme. If you, or someone you know, is a painter
in the DFW area and can help with the paint work, please
drop us a line and let us know.
Thanks
to our newest sponsors, Rehvac manufacturing, Five
Star Manufacturing, and Sprocket
Specialists! We are glad to have you on board for the
build!

A very special dedication
Many of our close friends and sponsors
have been aware of this announcement for a while, but it
is time to let all of you faithful readers know. This bike
will be dedicated to our United States Armed forces as a
special thank you to all of the sacrifices they make to
protect our freedoms. We are currently working on a paint
scheme for the bike, which will be military themed and will
give it an appropriate name as well. We are currently toying
with the idea of calling it the "Star Spangled Burner"
since it will have a full military style afterburner. Since
we receive so many site visits from military bases, we welcome
suggestions for the name from any and all military personel.
We also appreciate the efforts of our hard working law enforcement,
firemen, and other more "secretive" governmental
protection agencies. This is for all of you too!
We
also made the headlines in the product spotlight over at
Design
Engineering's web site. Take a look, as we are proud
to have come this far and appreciate their support in helping
us to achieve this goal.

More frame modifications
With working systems, the hard part
is now getting all of the components crammed into the tiny
frame of the YSR. Mounts have to be fabricated for everything
from the exhaust system, to the wiring harness. Since the
bike will be traveling at high speed it is essential that
everything be fastened down tightly. Testing of the cryogenic
cooling system has proven successful, and thanks to our
sponsors over at Design Engineering we have an even higher
thrust output along with cooler temperatures!
We
did have to use smaller tanks to hold the compressed CO2,
and the guys over at Catalina
Cylinders came through for us with 2.5 lb CO2 tanks
perfectly sized for the bike! They will look great mounted
on the swingarm. Speaking of the swingarm, it will also
house the battery box, which will be loaded with the best
battery on the planet, the ODYSSEY
battery from Enersys. Thanks to them for supplying us
with the power needed for the electronics!
Best
wishes to all of our viewers to have a great holiday weekend,
and a special thank you to all of our troops working hard
to defend our freedoms!

Work on the swingarm and computer systems
Lately there has been a lot of work
going in to the rear swingarm and the computer systems.
Things have been super hectic! We also managed to get most
of the Nova cut out so that the new frame can go in pretty
easily. With multiple projects going on time does tend to
pass by very quickly! Rest assured that we are working hard
on getting the bike ready and updates will come very soon
with pics. We also have a new internet connection now so
it should be more reliable than the old one which was down
for 10 days. All we can do is jump the hurdles as they come
at us, but we will finish the bike if it kills us! (hopefully
the bike won't kill us though!)
May
2nd 2006
We are working fast and furious to get the bike done.
Lots more frame modifications are going
on this week, and preparations are being made to take the
jet engine to the next level of testing. We changed the
rear end setup for the bike, lengthened the swing arm by
8 inches, and are currently awaiting an arrival of Heim
joints to make an adjustable ride height system. This will
also get rid of the original shock mount altogether so we
will have better clearance for the jet pipe exhaust.
Our
newest sponsor, Tri-Tronics
is sending us a nice set of fiber optic sensors to use for
the RPM sensing on the bike. We had been using their products
already, but with the change of turbos, we had to find a
way to use fiber optics to route the sensor heads into the
compressor. The new sensors will really make things much
easier, and we thank Tri-Tronics,
as well as all of our sponsors for their efforts!

More frame modifications today.
We have been busy making additional
modifications to the frame this week to accept the new engine
and parts. The swing arm is being extended almost 8 inches
for better stability and to make room for the CO2 tanks
which will be mounted there. Why do we need CO2 tanks? Just
wait and see! Our new sponsor DEI, is providing us with
some "trick toys"
to make the bike even better.
We
will also return to programming for the electronics system
very soon. The systems provided by Parallax will be tightly
integrated with all of the subsystems on the bike for "set
it and forget it" computer control. Keep checking in,
and thanks for supporting the site! Your help is appreciated!

Engine testing successful.
Engine testing has been successful with
no major problems to report. Three new updates made it to
the site today. See how we are modifying the bike frame
to accept the new engine, the finishing of the combustor
and flame tube, and finally the testing of the new engine!
These are only preliminary tests, and the engine will see
further improvement once we receive parts from our newest
sponsor, Design
Engineering Inc.
Please
remember to support the site, as we have other projects
on the way as well. The new Skunk Works project needs your
attention. Help the site out today so we can get the project
updates for it to you sooner!

Tested the engine today.
Today we ran the jet bike engine for
the first time. The engine fired up and sustained with no
major problems at all. The tests were conducted using propane
as the fuel, and further testing will take place later this
week. Aside
from needing a needle valve in the fuel line for finer control
of the incoming fuel, everything went as planned.
I
am extremely tired after spending all day getting everything
ready, so the site update will have to come tomorrow. There
are plenty of pictures as well as some video of the new
engine in operation. I'll do my best to have it ready by
early evening. Thanks for following us this far!
April

Engine testing will be soon.
The new engine for the jet bike will
be tested soon to determine thrust ratings and check for
operation tolerances. You can bet that we will get some
video of the action for your enjoyment.
We
would like to take a moment to welcome our newest sponsors,
Design
Engineering Inc. and Caswell
Inc. Design Engineering is providing our heat shielding
materials for the bike to keep us from getting "all
fired up", and Caswell is helping us to make the parts
pretty with their coating systems.

The Jetbike is getting a lot more work this week!
With lots of parts in the shop finally,
we are getting a ton of work done on the jet bike. There
should be an update sometime this weekend. We are still
looking for an advertising sponsor for the new Skunk Works
project too. If you have a company that would like to get
wide exposure, please contact us. Thanks to all of our viewers,
and remember to help support the site. The more support
we get, the faster we can bring you more updates and new
projects!
We
would also like to take a moment to welcome our newest sponsor,
Caswell
Inc. Their black oxide cold dip kits will be used to
put a nice finish on the parts of the combustor for the
Jet Bike. Visit them today to see their product line!

Happy Easter from all of us at Bad Brothers Racing!!
Lots of parts came in. I've been in the
garage all day long for two days and will be there again
tomorrow and Sunday. I will be updating this weekend sometime
with some goodies. I can't say for sure which day, but I
will somehow get it done. Thanks for being patient, and
I'm sure you will all see how it is coming together and
be happy with the results of the work done on the Jet Bike.
I really need to put up a blog for all of these mini rants!
Thanks to all of you who have made donations and what I
call "Clicks for the Cause!" Keep supporting the
projects and we can get more updates out quicker!

The
Skunk Works Project has started
The Skunk Works Project is in full swing, and we are currently
raising the funds needed to complete the project. We are
about a third of the way there with the funding so far.
(This is not an April Fools Joke)
Those
interested in making donations should do so from our donation
page. Potential sponsors should contact us directly
via email, as there will be plenty of room on the new vehicle
for your company logo. All donations are appreciated, so
come on guys! Help us get this project up and running quicker
by supporting us in the build. We promise you won't be let
down with the outcome of this one! Full
project details will be revealed to qualified sponsors.
